Description
IF YOU'RE TIRED OF LOSING AN AUCTION AT THE LAST MINUTE "BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIAL" HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO "BUY IT NOW" FOR ONLY $1350!! KING 4B SONOROUS LARGE BORE TENOR TROMBONE W/ F attachment! Just completely refinished to like new condition! HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO GET A GREAT TROMBONE AT A GREAT PRICE! The King 4B trombone lists new at over $3000. My buy it now price is way less than half that, and at least $800 lower than any discount internet price on a new one. King trombones are by far my favorite. I've been playing them since 1965. I'm always looking for Kings to restore and list in my Ebay store. If you don't see what you want just email me and I'll find it for you. I can also offer overhauls and custom bright and satin silver plate as well as gold finishes. Please visit my Ebay store for great deals on brass and woodwind band instruments! I’ve played the new King trombones and they just don’t play as well as the horns from the 1970’s and earlier. The brass used in the bell in this vintage trombone has a far better tone and response than the new ones. It just feels more “solid”. The new ones are good. The vintage ones like this one are just much better! This is not your typical used instrument. It has been taken apart, most all dents removed, carefully reassembled, highly polished and a new baked lacquer finish applied! It looks and plays like new! The inner slide stockings are excellent with no plating wear. A Marcellus mouthpiece and a new gig bag are included. The bag features an external slide pocket with a hard board protector. The restoration was done by a respected local shop with over 40 years experience in woodwind and brass instrument restorations and repairs. Some of their employees worked at the H.N. White and King factories in Cleveland and Eastlake, Ohio. I have personally used this company for over 8 years for my band members and myself. I had this shop overhaul and silver plate my “baby” – a 1971 Besson professional euphonium and for me that’s like trusting someone to operate on your kid. (I’ve had the horn longer than my kids!) It really looks great and actually plays better than when I bought it new in college. The trombone features a .547" (13.89mm) bore, 8-5/8" yellow brass bell and nickel silver outer slide tubes. The serial number is 697XXX which dates it to around 1978. The guys that really knew how to build horns at the King Instrument Co. plant in Eastlake, OH crafted this fine trombone. It was made before the King Instrument Co. was sold to GC Conn and the European corporate conglomerate UMI. This is a great horn from the last years of the “Golden Age of King trombones”. YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND METAL USED IN A VINTAGE KING TROMBONE! The King 4B is a symphonic model professional trombone using a large shank mouthpiece. PUT THAT BACH OR CONN ON THE SHELF AND EXPERIENCE THE FANTASTIC TONE, RESPONSE AND SLIDE ACTION OF A GENUINE KING TROMBONE!! This could be the only trombone you need! It is an extremely versatile instrument. The 4B produces a nice full warm tone, but can be as bright as you need when pushed. With a 6-1/2AL or similar mouthpiece you can do anything from solo to 3rd trombone concert or symphonic work. A 4 or 5G size takes advantage of the 8-5/8" yellow brass bell yielding a large, warm tone that is great for solo or symphonic playing. If 3rd parts are your thing, a 1-1/2C bass trombone mouthpiece allows you to really bang out the low notes! The King F attachment assembly is unique with 2 tuning slides. King designed their F attachments as an “E” to “F” system. The longer tuning slide can be pulled to “E” to allow playing Eb, D etc in normal 3rd & 4th positions (plus the trigger) and adding the peddle B natural that isn’t possible with a standard F attachment. BUY IT NOW FOR ONLY $1350! THIS TROMBONE LOOKS GREAT AND PLAYS EVEN BETTER! The slide is exceptionally smooth, and fast from 1st to 7th position! The King 4B F is an outstanding all around trombone for solo and concert band or symphonic work. King trombones have long been the choice of professional trombone players from Tommy Dorsey in the 1940’s and 1950's to legendary trombonists Urbie Green, Kai Winding, JJ Johnson and present day artists like Jiggs Whigham. AN OUTSTANDING PROFESSIONAL TROMBONE!! A REAL PLAYER! DON’T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY!!! TERMS OF SALE: USA & CANADA SALES ONLY. SORRY, NO EXCEPTIONS. *PayPal ONLY PLEASE* Feel free to ask questions before you buy. Items are always available for local inspection and pickup. Please read the feedback from my past customers and BUY WITH CONFIDENCE! Sold AS IS - NO RETURNS This item is guaranteed to be as described. I take great care to make sure you are receiving a good quality instrument and to describe it accurately. The pictures tell the story. I’ve personally play tested it, so there’s nothing to worry about. I’m a band director and professional musician playing tuba to trumpet and everything in between. I play test everything I sell. If I wouldn’t have it in my house, I won’t send it to yours! I’m just a band director that’s collected too many instruments and other "horn stuff", between the community band that I direct (plus 3 others I play in – yes, I’m a little crazy!) and 2 kids that played in band in school. It’s time to “thin the herd”, so I’ll be listing some more instruments and “horn stuff” soon. UPDATE: Thanks to all who have bought “stuff from my closet”. This has gone so well, that I have opened an Ebay store and will be looking for more nice items (mostly band instruments and “horn stuff”) to offer for sale on Ebay as well as selling for my band members and friends. If there is something you’d like, just email me with your request and I’ll try to find it for you. Email at jrobinson152@neo.rr.com Please note: Items are always available for local inspection. This item is also for sale locally. I will have to end the auction early if it sells locally. SHIPPING TERMS: Shipping will be UPS, so I must have a street address - NO PO BOXES! S&H is $ 30.00 including insurance. SHIPPING TO CALIFORNIA AND THE REST OF THE WEST COAST WILL BE $55. Please wait for invoice with correct shipping charges for your area before paying. (Alaska and Hawaii will be extra – email me for correct charges before paying) Shipping to Canada will be $85 via UPS. I've checked and this is the cheapest way. Please note that S&H means shipping and handling. This covers more than just postage. It includes postage (or UPS charges), insurance, delivery confirmation, packaging materials and time, etc. My charges are not the highest on eBay or the lowest. They are usually about average or less than the average price compared to other like items shipped on eBay. I'll try to ship within one business day or same day that payment is received. LOCAL PICK UP IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE. THANKS AND GOOD LUCK!
