Description
PRICE REDUCED - BACK TO SCHOOL SPECIAL! WOW!! - WHAT A BARGAIN!!! IF YOU'RE TIRED OF LOSING AN AUCTION AT THE LAST MINUTE USE "BUY IT NOW" FOR ONLY $1250! KING 3B CONCERT TROMBONE MADE IN EASTLAKE, OHIO USA! Completely refinished to like new condition! HERE’S YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A GREAT LOOKING AND PLAYING PROFESSIONAL TROMBONE FOR WAY LESS THAN THE PRICE OF A NEW ONE! (In fact, the King student model trombone has a list price of $1250!) King trombones are by far my favorite. I've been playing them since 1965. I'm always looking for Kings to restore and list in my Ebay store. If you don't see what you want just email me and I'll find it for you. I can also offer overhauls and custom bright and satin silver plate as well as gold finishes. Please visit my Ebay store for great deals on brass and woodwind band instruments! I’ve played the new King trombones and they just don’t play as well as the horns from the 1970’s and earlier. The brass used in the bell in this vintage trombone has a far better tone and response than the new ones. It just feels more “solid”. The new ones are good. The vintage ones like this one are just much better! The engraving on the bell reads “King 3B Concert King Musical Instruments USA" Serial # 655xxx on dates to around 1978. The guys that really knew how to build horns at the King Instrument Co. plant in Eastlake, OH crafted this fine trombone. It was made before the King Instrument Co. was sold to GC Conn and the European corporate conglomerate UMI. This is a great horn from the last years of the “Golden Age of King trombones”. YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND METAL USED IN A VNTAGE KING TROMBONE! This King Concert 3B trombone has an 8” diameter yellow brass bell and a .508” bore. The slide features it’s original NICKEL SLIVER outer slide tubes. A new 6 ½ AL mouthpiece and a new gig bag are included. The slide is fast and smooth and shows no wear on the inner slide tubes! This is not your typical used instrument. It has had almost all dents removed, all joints inspected, taken apart where necessary, lacquer removed, carefully reassembled, highly polished and a new baked lacquer finish applied! It looks and plays like new! The restoration was done by a respected local shop with over 40 years experience in woodwind and brass instrument restorations and repairs. Some of their employees worked at the H.N. White and King factories in Cleveland and Eastlake, Ohio. One employee started working at the HN White Company in 1957! I have personally used this company for over 8 years for my adult band members and myself. I had this shop overhaul and silver plate my “baby” – a 1971 Besson professional euphonium and for me that’s like trusting someone to operate on your kid. (I’ve had the horn longer than my kids!) It really looks great and actually plays better than when I bought it new in college. This trombone looks great and plays like new! The King 3B is an outstanding all around trombone for jazz as well as solo and concert band or symphonic work. King trombones have long been the choice of professional trombone players from Tommy Dorsey in the 1940’s to legendary trombonists Urbie Green, Kai Winding, JJ Johnson and present day artists like Jiggs Whigham. I’ve played the new ones and while they are very good, nothing can beat a true vintage King trombone! AN OUTSTANDING CLASSIC PROFESSIONAL TROMBONE!! A REAL PLAYER! DON’T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY!!! TERMS OF SALE: USA & CANADA SALES ONLY. SORRY, NO EXCEPTIONS. PAYMENT WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSE IS REQUIRED. *PayPal ONLY PLEASE* Feel free to ask questions before you buy. Items are always available for local inspection and pickup. Please read the feedback from my past customers and buy with confidence! Sold AS IS - NO RETURNS This trombone is guaranteed to be as described. I take great care to make sure you are receiving a good quality instrument and to describe it accurately. The pictures tell the story. I personally play everything I sell, so there’s nothing to worry about. I’m a band director and professional musician playing tuba to trumpet and everything in between. If I wouldn’t have it in my house, I won’t send it to yours! I’ve just collected too many instruments and other "horn stuff", between the community band that I direct (plus 3 others I play in – yes, I’m a little crazy!) and 2 kids that played in band in school. It’s time to “thin the herd”, so I’ll be listing some more instruments and “horn stuff” soon. UPDATE: Thanks to all who have bought “stuff from my closet”. This has gone so well, that I’ve opened an Ebay store and will be looking for nice items (mostly band instruments and “horn stuff”) to offer for sale on Ebay as well as selling for band members and friends. If there is something you’d like, just email me with your request and I’ll try to find it for you. Email – jrobinson152@neo.rr.com Please note: This item is also for sale locally. I will have to end the auction early if it sells locally. SHIPPING TERMS: Shipping will be UPS, so I must have a street address - NO PO BOXES! S&H is $ 35.00 including insurance to continental US. UPS shipping to Canada is $85. I’ve checked and UPS is the cheapest way to Canada. *Alaska and Hawaii will be extra – email me for correct charges before paying* Please note that S&H means shipping and handling. This covers more than just postage. It includes postage (or UPS charges), insurance, delivery confirmation, packaging materials and time, etc. My charges are not the highest on eBay or the lowest. They are usually about average or less than the average price compared to other like items shipped on eBay. I'll try to ship within one business day or same day that payment is received THANKS AND GOOD LUCK!
