It just needed a new finish to make it look as great as it sounds!    Tommy Dorsey played a Silver King 2B Liberty trombone throughout his career.   The Silver Plating really enhances the tone and response.   This horn produces a gorgeous smooth tone from the highest to the lowest notes!   THESE VINTAGE TROMBONES USUALLY FAR OUT PLAY THE NEW ONES. BRASS NATURALLY ANNEALS AS IT AGES AND PRODUCES A SWEETER SOUNDING, MORE RESPONSIVE INSTRUMENT!!   YOU JUST CAN'T BEAT THE CRAFTSMANSHIP AND METAL USED IN THESE     VINTAGE KING TROMBONES!     This trombone is ready to be an everyday player.  You'll fall in love with the tone and response of this classic instrument.  I personally play a similar one in one of my bands.  The first two trombone players in my adult community band play early 1950's HN White King 2B's similar to this trombone that I've had overhauled and they just love them.  The tone they get as a section is amazing!   A new GOLD PLATED 6-1/2AL mouthpiece and a new gig bag is included.     The serial number is 496XXX dating the trombone to around 1974.  The engraving on the bell reads "King 2B Liberty King Musical Instruments".  The guys that really knew how to build horns at the King Instrument Co. plant in Eastlake, OH crafted this fine trombone.  It was made before the King Instrument Co. was sold to GC Conn and the European corporate conglomerate UMI.    This is a great horn from the last years of the “Golden Age of King trombones”.     I play tested this one in a band rehearsal last night where I play lead trombone and   the tone is amazing!!     THE SLIDE ACTION IS EXCELLENT – FAST AND SMOOTH!!!   This is not your typical used instrument.  It has had most dents removed, all joints inspected, taken apart where necessary, lacquer removed, carefully reassembled, highly polished WITH A NEW BRIGHT SILVER PLATE FINISH WITH GOLD TRIM!  It looks and plays GREAT!    The restoration was done by a respected local shop with over 40 years experience in woodwind and brass instrument restorations and repairs.  Some of their employees worked at the H.N.
