Description
Actual asking price will be reveled final week of auction. Thanks for looking! Thanks, JCSMI. COMe see more samples of my work if you find the time. The 'Polka Dot' Series 3rd Generation modeled in (Wenge Polka Dot in Maple on WENGE) with Project headstock. For Right hand 6 in line, 3x3, 2x4 or 1x5 tuner key configuration.Signed by Laurence Juber (was guitarist for Paul McCartney andWings). Check him out on You Tube. Fits most Stratocaster style guitars. Some slight modification may be necessary to your bodies neck pocket so the fit is snug (although they fit my fender 57' reissue strat nicely). Finish on the neck is left up to the end user due to the preference of the player. I may be able to custom shape the headstock if you can get me a drawing, No Charge. I will install Medium or JUMBO fretwire, Your choice, no charge. I will level, crown, file and finish fretwork. No charge. I will drill tuner holes if you let me know what size at no charge. I will install a bone nut and cut for string gauge of choice at no charge. I leave the nut a little higher so you can just file down the bottom of the nut to the height you prefer. I will tape the nut to the heel for safe travel. You can easily glue in with a small dot of glue under the nut. Less is better incase you want to remove it at a later date. Try to use a glue that can be broken down by light heat. If not satisfied with this neck, just return within 7 business days of arrival and I will gladly refund the purchase price less eBay fees, shipping, handling to and from and possible PayPal fees. Neck must must be clean and in condition when shipped to you please! Please feel free to e-mail any questions and I will try to get back to you. Thanks, jcsmusicalinstruments See more necks there! dot com SPECIFICATIONS: *Truss rod: Vintage heel adjust (1962 fender spec) single rod chosen for lighter weight. *Scale length: 25.5 inch. *Width at nut: aprox. 1 11/16ths" *Width at heel: aprox. 2 & 3/16" *Fretboard radius: 12" radius for nice lead bending!, 21 fret *Fretboard markers: None *Side markers: 10 White dots in the Wenge. *Fret wire: Medium or Jumbo *Neck shape: Medium "C" shape oval *Important to note: These necks are handbuilt, undrilled and uninstalled. A $45 dollar fret leveling, filing and fret dressing job performed at no cost to you. Producing your own headstock! Cut out your template. Before you trace your design onto the peghead, make sure that the tuners will work correctly with the shape. Lay them out according to the pegholes on your template and make sure none of the tuner's housing/baseplates will be exposed. Carefully trace your design onto the face of the peghead. Use a pencil, because ink may stain the wood, even through the finish! If you are not a skilled woodworker, you should consult someone who is before you cut out your headstock. Remember to follow all shop safety guidelines when working with power and hand tools. Don't start on the neck until you can shape a headstock to your complete satisfaction on scrap wood.Use a bandsaw, coping saw, or jigsaw to cut out your peghead design. A bandsaw or jigsaw is the best way to go. This will ensure that the edges are square to the back of the peghead and that the transitions will be smooth. When you are sawing, never cut on the line—always cut to just outside the line, so that you can sand to the line. After you have roughed out the shape, it's time to final shape the peghead. Use a drum sander, files, or rasps. Once the peghead is shaped to your satisfaction, sand the area with 150-grit sandpaper, followed by 220 and 320-grit. The neck is now ready for finish touch-up, or more finish. Thanks, Jim @ jcsmi sn# J108
