Rare Italian Labeled Violin Martini Oreste Modello di Guarneri Del Gesu Mantova, 1927 Description: Up for your consideration is an incredible Guarneri Del Gesu model violin! This fine instrument has a two piece top of medium grain spruce which widens towards the flanks. It has an incredible pinned one piece back made of gorgeous prominent flamed European maple, with ribs and scroll of matching figure. The purfling is inlaid and well executed with sharp bee stings in every corner, and it is fully blocked and lined inside. The varnish is all original and is in great condition. This violin is well set up with a new soundpost, an Aubert bridge, and a beautiful matching set of boxwood fittings which have black accents. There are no old repairs, no cracks, no open seems and it will not require any restoration. The tone has a nice timber and is powerful, open, rich and balanced.
