Description
This is one of the most amazing trumpets you will ever play. Recently many players who tried this horn at ITG and Trumpet Friday gave it rave reviews. This Hub Van Laar model 4 trumpet is a ML bore, yellow brass bell with nickel and silver slides. The B4 is modeled after the Bach Mt.Vernon ML37 and combines old-world handmade craftsmanship with modern improvements. It has a nice projection and a warm sound if you play soft and a nice sizzle if you push it, fast response, very fast Bauerfeind valves (the best valves ever!), very good intonation and slotting, and is a great pleasure to play. The B4 is popular in Europe with both classical and jazz players, and is beginning to be known in the states as the great all-round horn that it is. I bought this amazing trumpet directly from the only US dealer of Van Laar trumpets less then a month ago. It has barely been played and was meticulously cleaned after each play. It is in perfect condition. Although this horn is an amazing player, I am selling it because it is not the type of horn that I am accustomed to. I am no lead/high note player and have always played on loose slotting horns. This horn is made for all around playing and is great in lead situations and will put the notes where they should be. If you were to buy this horn new (although this was the last new model in the US a few weeks ago) it would cost you $3,800. The price continues to go up due to the weak US dollar. I paid $3,500 less then a month ago and this horn is easily worth the price of the Yamaha Custom and other like-valued horns. The Trumpet will be shipped exactly the way it was shipped to me, including Hetman oils and lubes, a Van Laar Trumpet Bag, an unused polishing cloth and a Reka cleaning kit.
