youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSGhu_k0X8c under construction: http://chriswalshguitars.com/ Hello, and welcome to my auction of this fine acoustic archtop guitar. I’ve been working rather diligently through the last ten years or so…part-time building archtops almost exclusively. I’ve followed the Benedetto book and video series religiously, and I’ve have had plenty of real time help and words of encouragement and wisdom from Mark Campellone who lives a short drive away. It’s always a humbling experience to get a good kick in the pants from a wonderful luthier such as Mark. Many thanks to both of these men and folks online at MIMF for their sharing of ideas/concepts, etc. All woods used in construction are stable, 6% or less MC, quartersawn and, honestly, it just doesn't get any better!!  All work is done in my humidity contolled basement shop.  There is no outsourcing of any kind.   The plates are hand carved, scraped, and tuned.  The response of this guitar is quite nice...the notes jump out at you..has nice volume...and should open up quite nicely.  As you may know, the carved boxes just keep sounding better and better with time....and this one will be right there with the best of them. This blonde is one of three righties I am in the process of completing. It already has such wonderful tone, real punch, and mellow, melt you away rich dark side to it when you’re in that sweet spot. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.  I really had a lot of fun bringing this to life both visually and acoustically.  There a couple small human error finish blips that I suppose I could take out of context by presenting them and not presenting the the entire project,  but here is this special hand made solid wood constuction guitar with all it's special details.   Special thanks to Phil Palonen for stopping in to record a few chops for the auction.  Just a word on the recording...really... through a Kodak digital camera..no mics, no direct anything or anything special..through a fender princeton chorus amp...all in all...while it is a so-so recording...it does reflect some nice stuff, but it does miss some of the real meaty stuff...but that's ok..it gives you some idea of the tone and hopefully a measure of playability etc. Any costs in addition to the listing will be incurred by the buyer, ie., paypal or whatever. I hope that you will ask plenty of questions, and here are a few particulars to keep you busy.  I reserve the right to end the auction early as the guitar is for sale locally as well....thanks!!
