Description
The Hagstrom Patch 2000, the world's first guitar synthesizer, was introduced in 1976. Hagstrom, a Swedish company, marketed the guitar in the U.S. through AMPEG (who manufactured this foot pedal controller) which, together with an analog synthesizer, could be used to produce some pretty rad and mind-blowing sounds! Rather than try to explain how it works, the best thing is to check out this link on Youtube from 1977 (not least of all for the cool shoes!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNLhhK2Otyg There's more info here: http://www.balgdraget.com/write/patch.htm And if you do a Google search of "Hagstrom Patch 2000," you'll find even more info. (Guitarist Larry Coryell was an endorser of the instrument!) CONDITION: In great shape. This big foot pedal is made of cast iron (I think -- anyway, it weighs a ton). It comes with the power cord and 7-pin adaptor, shown. HISTORY: I got this and the guitar from a recording studio which kept a huge arsenal of instruments on hand for their clients. In 1996, the studio closed its doors and I bought the guitar and foot pedal. (I'm offering the guitar in a separate auction.) The guitar was built using Hagstrom's top-of-the-line Swede electric guitar. This was such a fine instrument that many people bought it who had no interest in its synthesizer function, which is why you see more of the Patch 2000 guitars than the foot pedals -- to the extent either of them are seen at all! (So far as I know this is the first time both have been offered on eBay by the same seller.) I never got around to getting the analog synth (best intentions), and so this hasn't been used in more than a decade. Originally I planned to auction the foot pedal and the guitar together, but it occurred to me that there may be folks out there who have the guitar, but not the foot pedal, or vice versa. I have two 7-pin adaptor cords (also very hard to find). One will go with the guitar and the other with the foot pedal. DOMESTIC SHIPPING: $75.00 via UPS Ground within the U.S., price includes quality shipping materials and insurance for final auction amount. PAYMENT: Check, Money Orders, PayPal; U.S. funds only. PAYMENT DUE: Within 7 days of end of auction. OVERSEAS BIDDERS: Yes, I will sell this overseas, but note my terms: I ship via Air Mail ONLY, and overseas buyers must pay with PayPal. I charge only the actual shipping costs (plus $15.00 for materials), but overseas winners must add $200.00 to the bid total at the end of the auction to cover shipping. I will refund to your PayPal account whatever portion of that is not used for shipping after the instrument has shipped to you. NOTE: I will not misrepresent value to avoid taxes, VAT, or customs fees. QUESTIONS? Get in touch! Sold as-is. Zero feedbacks? Please get in touch before bidding! Place a Bid!
