How about a unique Special Order Fender Custom Shop beautiful Transparent Cherry Red Thinline Custom 1962 Stratocaster and Telecaster  "set" with highly figured mahogany bodies, highly flamed and birds-eyed maple necks w/ Brazilian rosewood fretboards, mother of pearl pickguards, and gold hardware !  Back in the golden years of the original Fender Custom Shop during its "Dream Factory" era, select Fender "Diamond  Dealers" were occasionally given the opportunity to order special one-off guitars or small runs of Custom Shop guitars built to their specifications. These two guitars were "special ordered"(note neck stamp),  by the manager of one of the oldest and largest Fender Dealers in the USA and were totally handmade to his specifications.   These guitars were extremely well thought out and only the top of the line, hand inspected and selected materials were used in their masterbuilt construction.  The combination of the lightweight mahogany bodies, flamed and birds-eyed hard rock maple necks with Brazilian rosewood slab fret-boards give these instruments a very unique voice capable of covering a very wide range of tones and as you can see, they are truly a work of art.    Although they both retain classic Telecaster and Stratocaster tones the mahogany gives them a much "warmer and woodier" sound than their ash or alder bodied counterparts.   These guitars sound great !!     This set although conceived and ordered in the summer (John Page era) of 1997 (note neck stamp dates of Dec 97),  weren't actually delivered until late 2000/early 2001 as shown by the dates of 11-01-2000 and 2-28-01 on the Certificates of Authenticity.  They are serial numbered x and x of 15, but its believed these are 2  of  7  total made, and also the only two with a matched Transparent Cherry finish.  Well worth the 3 year wait these guitars sound and play incredible !  The weight of both guitars is approximately 7 1/2 pounds each and nut-width is standard 1 5/8 on a early 60's C profile necks. Very RARE, you may never see another Thinline Stratocaster for sale; and with a matching Telecaster ?   Not likely....   Both guitars are near mint condition and come with the original Certificate of Authenticitys (COA) signed by Fender Custom Shop manager Mike Eldred,   Fender Custom Shop accessory pack, and original hard-shell cases.  This is your once in a lifetime opportunity to own a one of a kind set from the golden years of Fender Custom Shop history, and two of the nicest Fender instruments you could possibly "dream" of and these guitars will also be featured on an upcoming calendar.....  This auction is for BOTH THE STRATOCASTER AND THE TELECASTER AS A SET !!
