Description
This is a limited edition set of 2006 Fender Custom Shop 1959 Relic Stratocaster and matching Pro Junior Amplifier in Lake Placid Blue. It was made exclusively for the 2006 Winter NAMM Show in USA so quite rare to find one in Australia. It is in dead mint condition as I purchased it as an investment but it is time to let it go. The guitar sounds great, very lightweight (just under 3.4 kg / 7.4 lb.) and vibrates really well - it really sings. It features 9.5 radius neck with medium jumbo frets and Fat 50’s Pickups with 5-way switch. Of its 3 custom wound Fat '50s single-coil pickups, middle pickup is reverse wound for hum canceling in positions 2 and 4. Also, second tone control is wired to Middle & Bridge Pickup, very versatile PU combination. The Fingerboard is African Rosewood which is dark and consistent with straight grains. The neck is birdseye maple which is just amazing to look at and is Oval "C" shape (early 60s - a tag thinner than '65 C Shape - #3 neck). It is very fast and comfortable neck. Mint Green Pickguard looks so nice with LPB finish as well. Includes Ltd. Edition hardshell case, accessories, all hang tags, Pro Jr. manual and Custom Shop certificate, basically everything that came with the set. Pro Junior Combo Amp is a small all-tube amp, simple yet very effective. It delivers 15W through a 10" speaker and features all-tube circuitry, unique clean-to-drive volume control, finished, and relic'd, to match the guitar. Please note that it runs in 120V as directly imported from USA. So a stepdown transformer will be handy to run it in Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity to own Fender's ultimate set!
