Description
Back in 1972 I purchased the EMS Synthi AKS Synthesizer as the original owner for $1200 US. Although I never mastered the instrument it was great fun as an other worldly sound generator. I used the synthi for a couple of months in 1972 when a problem developed with the sequencer. I sent it ,under warranty, to EMS of Amherst for repair and it was returned with a letter (which I still have), saying it was completely repaired and was in good working order. To my disappointment it was not. I used it intermittently for a while without the sequencer until shelving it in 1974. Fast forward to 2007 and having completed the building of my studio, I am looking for money to equip it. I have sent the keyboard back to Robin Wood at EMS and he has returned it repaired. I have started it up and except for 2 minor scratchy knobs it works fine. It is missing 2 small screws that hold the key board inside the case for transport. It is missing 1 rubber grommit on the back side (a foot) 1 patch pin is defective. It includes the manual, a stand, AC cord, keyboard cord, 3 modules, 12 patch cards, and repair documentation form Robin Wood. This unit is a REAL FIND, especially in its excellent condition. I have tested this unit and to the best of my ability found it in good working order. However, due to the complexity of this unit and features I have never used, I am willing to set aside 10% of the purchase price to be used towards repair of the unit (excluding transit damage and upgrades). The repair must be performed by Robin Wood at EMS and will only be reimbursed with proof of repair (ie a bill). Weight of unit is 25 lbs.
