Elliott electric 8-string mandolin.  I work at a local music store and we are now auctioning some of our better used gear.  I have NEVER seen a mandolin of this quality.  They sell new for $3500.00.  A gig bag is included with this wonderful instrument.  Here is a blurb about E.F. Elliott that will explain more: Based in Oklahoma, Ed Elliott worked with the legendary Semie Moseley at Mosrite in the 1970s and '80s, and owns all of the old Mosrite shop equipment. He writes: "I'm a guitar builder-player myself, but for some reason I built a batch of four mandos on a lark, and got a lot of response. I don't know why, but the mandolins are more fun to make than guitars." That original batch of four turned into about 25 (this was back in 1999 or so), including the scroll and 2-point electric 8-string models pictured below. One of them found its way into the hands of one of the most conspicuous e-mando players in the United States (the Dixie Chicks' Martie Maguire). After a few years away from building mandolins, Ed picked up where he left off in 2007. Top and back are Pacific Northwest AAAAA quilted bigleaf maple, and like most of Ed's instruments, it features a custom-wound pickup.
