An accomplished player of all three instruments, he doesn't let an instrument out of his workshop that he wouldn't be happy to play himself. He started making instruments from traditional woods such as box, maple and cherry.  However Tony has always been ready to experiment with new materials. This has led to the very popular tunable polymer whistle offered here. The DX005 whistle is constructed from a very robust and rigid polymer, black in colour, with a black ABS plastic head/mouth-piece. Polymer and ABS are types of high-tech plastic which resist the effects of moisture, both from the atmosphere and from the breath, and are highly tolerant of temperature changes and knocks in transit, making this instrument ideal for beginners and professionals alike. The head mounts to the body via a brass slide, allowing very accurate fine-tuning (see pic below) The brass fitting is extremely tight and accurate, so there is no air-loss at the joint.
