Description
It took me 6 years to find one of these that was servicable, and then another 4 years to find another (why did I think I needed two?). The first one I saw was owned by a lady you had just sold it to a museum for over $3000, and she wouldn't let me touch it. I couldn't sleep at night, and all I could think about is what does that metal clarinet sound like? This is the culprit that got me started investigating metal clarinets. So I really needed two. It's a double walled metal and was a very complex manufacturing process, and if it gets dented the dents can't be removed. It is difficult to service, and there are no replacement parts--So it really is very hard to find one in this condition. It only has a couple of very tiny dings inside the bell rim that you might not see, and a little scratch maybe--I didn't say perfect, but pretty close. The first successful metal clarinet ever made (Conn patent 1888). Excellent condition. Here's a real museum piece for you that you can play. Leather pads like new. Comes in display case where it fits over a dowel to secure it, but can be easily removed to play. Not standard modern pitch, it's HP, but an amazingly wonderful tone for an Eb, and a great player if you like to play Alberts. If you don't like Alberts, but want a special Eb clarinet--now's the time to sell my collection--See my other listings.
