Fegley, Commissioned Series, Reading, PA" has an incredibly vibrant and resonant sound. I played two solo recitals on this instrument, as well as an orchestra solo in auditorium seating 900 people, and the sound filled the room every time. The antiquing in the varnish is beautiful and masterfully executed. In addition, the pegs and tailpiece are handcarved (I have included detailed pictures of both). I have never seen pegs or a tailpiece similar to these, they are just so lovely. It is one of first details of the violin that people often notice. I have owned this violin for 11 years, and have used it all the way through graduate school music auditions. It is well played, and as violins sound better and better over time as they are played more and more, this violin is at the height of its sound. I have played instruments that cost 5,000.00 more than this one, and this instrument still sounds better than it's more expensive counterparts.
