Bach Stradivarius C trumpet with the serial number from 1980s #249107 This is CL .462 ( Large bore ) with most wanted 229 bell model and Bob Malone conversion with MC2 leadpipe with the sleeve that tuning slide goes in ( see photo ). Has engraved Malone on the front brace. It also comes with 2 tuning slides both converted by Malone to fit his leadpipe. One is with amado water key slightly more rounded than the 2nd one with standard water key. Leadpipe as well as tuning slides are raw brass. Rest of the horn is silver with normal wear in contact points nothing really big. Mr Malone joined Yamaha team few years ago and is no longer making those conversions and those are becoming most wanted C trumpets on the market. This could be your last chance to get it so buy it now while you still can ! International trumpet soloist Hakan Hardenberger is playing whole his career on a Malone converted Bach Strad. C trumpet. This trumpet plays like a dream and valves are custom fitted to casings as well with very tight compression and you can really feel that when putting valves into casings. Perfect valves ! Horn plays very smooth in the whole range from the bottom to the top and down. Especially switch from middle c to high c above staff is effortless without any stuffy feeling which is present on almost all C trumpets. Basically once you get to high c you will be thinking how you did it and is this really a high c as you can just keep going higher. This helps a lot in achieving great musical feeling and freedom in the higher range as there is no force working against the player with makes this horn very expressive when playing a musical idea up there. The difference between tuning slides is not really big to me the rounded with amado provides slightly more open feel which is logical because it`s more rounded. The buyer will decide which one is he/she likes. This trumpet comes with two tuning slides and please don`t ask me to separate any slide from it. This trumpet is used horn but in really exceptional playing condition. You can find few minor dings around and few wear spots. As I said ealier nothing big. You can see minor ding on bottom part of the 2nd slide. All of the slides pull easily, and the first and third slides are, like the valves which are smooth and fast and very tight. The pistons show no wear ( see photo ) just scratches. Valves have brass valve guides.
