I think it is one of those old but beautifully built replicas of a Joh. Babt. Schweitzer violin. There is an old labels inside with this name and a date of 1814 and another date of 1882 (I think for a repair) in pencil. If you do an online search for Schweitzer, it will be very intriguing.  Many people try to sell violins such as this as built in the 1800's. I personally do not beleive that, but I am certainly not an expert. This violin belonged to my father and he played it when he was young. It makes beautiful music. Beautiful handicraft and beautiful tone. Please see photos for additional detail. Any blemishes will be noticeable from them. This is an old violin, and will show some wear and blemishes, but most are very minor. The most notable is a small chip in the very top of the scroll on the left side (see picture).
