This stool is quite unusual in that it's not made of the typical mahogany of the period -- it's made of sycamore maple which is a beautiful, richly grained lighter wood that has a beautiful patina. The seat swivels and is fully adjustable ... note how high the stool adjusts to in the 3rd photograph. It has beautifully turned stretchers and legs which end in exceptional cast iron (which has parcel gilt patination) and glass ball and claw feet. This wonderful piece is signed on the cast iron hardware on the base (sorry, the photo is a little fuzzy) and was made by the Charles Parker Company of Meriden, Ct. Parker was one of the most prolific makers of piano stools in the 19th century. PLEASE NOTE WE HAVE ANOTHER CHAS. PARKER PIANO STOOL (in mahogany) in THIS WEEK'S AUCTION. Please click on the link to see our other auctions! Age (ca.) c1870-1890 Dimensions It measures 14" in diameter and the seat is 18" high which adjusts to 22-1/2" high . Condition It is in good condition with a rich patina and its original finish. It is sturdy and the adjustable seat works well. Some character marks give it 'good age' but there's nothing that would constitute damage. Provenance This beautiful piece comes from a prestigious estate auction in Long Island's Hamptons, home to America's wealthiest families for generations. SHIPPING Shipping price for this item will be: $38 (UPS) within the continental U.S. (please email for rates outside the U.S.). NOTE: For the holiday season we are making every effort to offer either REDUCED OR FREE SHIPPING on most of our auction listings. Because furniture pieces must go by UPS or by Freight (which can be expensive for large pieces of furniture), we can't afford to absorb the full cost of shipping on these pieces -- but we are splitting those freight costs with our customers. THE PRICE YOU ARE PAYING IS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED FROM WHAT IT COSTS US to PACK, CRATE, INSURE & SHIP this piece -- we are absorbing the rest of the shipping price. WINNING BIDDERS PLEASE NOTE Back to Top You will receive more than one email both from eBay and from Lennon Hall Antiques. The most important email will be your eBay invoice and you can click through on that to pay for your item. We reserve the right to void the auction if we don't receive payment in 10 days. SHIPPING DETAILS Back to Top Once you pay for your item it will be packed for shipping. The method of shipping depends on the size of your purchase. Most things are crated or boxed by our PROFESSIONAL SHIPPER. As a rule, you will receive an email from us or from iship.com with a tracking number. Small items are sent via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive in a few days. Medium size pieces (small pieces of furniture, etc.) are shipped by UPS; these items are generally custom boxed and typically arrive within a few days to a week. Large pieces of furniture are custom crated and shipped by our trucker, Arrow Express. Once the trucker picks up your item from us, it normally takes two to three weeks to arrive. However, many things can impact the time of a truck shipment so it can take as long as eight weeks, depending on your location. About Shipping Costs: We are working very hard to keep shipping costs down but both USPS and UPS have raised their rates and the price of gas has skyrocketed, so truckers are all charging surcharges. We do not use Greyhound or any of the cut-rate shippers. We always combine shipping to discount multiple item purchases. About LOCAL (NY tri-state area) shipments: We always welcome pick ups and never charge for this service. Also, we have a local delivery service that can deliver up to five items for the same price, anywhere within the NY tri-state area. If you are local, please ask for a price quote for this very affordable service. INSURANCE Back to Top We always include insurance in your shipping price. Antiques and vintage items are vulnerable to any aggressive handling so it's important they always be insured when shipping. We value our products and are as upset as you are if anything gets damaged! In the unlikely event that your item does get damaged in shipment, it is always fully insured and we will work with you every step of the way to recover this insurance. Please let us know immediately if an item is damaged in shipment and please make sure to retain all your packing material. INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS Back to Top We ship worldwide. If you are an international bidder and do not see the shipping calculator in the auction, please email for rates outside the U.S. Please note that international shipments can easily get lost or stolen so insurance is a MUST for international shipments. Further, in the event of a lost, stolen or damaged item, recovery of postal insurance can take up to one year. We cannot refund the cost of this item until we recover the cost from the carrier. Customs clearance charges are the responsibility of the purchaser. Canadian bidders: We welcome your business! We will make every effort to work with you to keep freight and customs costs down.
