Description
4A Alaskan Yellow Cedar Guitar Back & side set You are bidding for one Alaskan Yellow Cedar guitar back and side set.Similar to Spanish Cypress, but in my opinion, better. Beautiful. Cut from the same billet, the back and sides will match perfectly. Perfectly quarter sawn. Alaskan Yellow Cedar, or Nootka Cypress, is known for its stability and high strength to weight ratio. It is the hardest Cedar in the world and it is found only on the Pacific Coast of North America. It is one of the slowest growing trees in North America with trees that are 700 to 1200 years old often with 60 annual rings per inch or more. It is extremely rare. Lighter than mahoghany, this superb wood allows for an extremely light weight guitar that will resonate like a 100 year old instrument. We are now offering this beautiful Alaskan Yellow Cedar for backs and sides cut from the same billet. Although commonly used for flamenco guitars, I have used this for some killer steel string guitars. IF you want a very light weight guitar and like the look of this warm and elegant yellow wood, this is the stuff for you! This Alaskan Yellow Cedar is VERY stiff, with very tight grain, averaging at least 35 grains per inch. This is prime wood. This is top shelf stuff that works easily, finishes beautifully, is very crack resistant, extremely stable and has tone to die for. It also has one of the most unique smells you'll ever encounter. It's worth using a set just to experience the smell! You can't go wrong with this stuff. I have a limited supply of this great wood. Not the second grade stuff ..... the same stuff I will use. These back sets are 3/16 inch thick, 9 inches wide and 22 inches long with and average of 35 grains per inch. The sides are 5 inches wide and 32 inches long. Absolutely no blue stain, which is a common problem with this species. This is a rare opportunity to get tonewood this good. Limited supply of this stuff, not only from me, but in the world. The set you see is the set you'll get.Shipping to locations in the US and Canada for one set by USPS Priority Mail is $15.00Two tops will be $18.00. Three tops will be $20.00International shipping for one set is $35.We will consolidate shipping costs for multiple items.Items will be shipped within a day or two of your cleared payment.Payment is to be made by PayPal. Satisfaction is guaranteed. We will replace the product or refund your money less shipping costs.
