BETTONEY BOSTON SILVA BET CLARINET - #S3373 ' Description This is an H Bettoney Boston Silva Bet Bb Clarinet in it's orginal case!  This clarinet was in my father-in-laws estate, and was proudly owned and played by my mother-in-law.  It is a beautiful piece and is in great condition, as you can see from the pictures.  All pieces to my knowledge are originals.  As you can see from the close up pictures, it states Silva Bet, and above it reads Patent Pending, S3373, and above it reads H Bettoney Boston.  On the horn, in the other pictures, is the beautiful hand engraving H Bettoney Boston.  Everything shown is included in the sale.  The only piece missing is the mouthpiece. For the age of this beautiful piece, I consider it in excellent condition, it just needs a good cleaning to it.  The case is worn inside and out, as it is the original case and one handle is broken, but it still locks nicelyand in the interior the middle label tag clearly reads Silva Bet also.  This clarinet has been stored for many years in the bedroom closet of his home. Some history on the Silva Bet: Harry Pedler also made an extremely high quality metal clarinet about the time Bettoney introduced the Silva-Bet--But Harry Pedler didn't make so many, and he retired in 1929. These early high quality Pedler clarinets used the thickest metal of any, ever.
