Raffin in Paris. Prosper Colas was working for J.B. Vuillaume. His bows are elegant, made in beautiful style that is personal and easy to recognize. He was definitely one of the last fine bow maker's of 19th century.  This is a nice example made on one of the maker's personal models. The stick is reddish brown pernambuco with spectacular flames, round, quite strong with a very fine balance and great quality sound. The length of the stick is 72.8 cm and the weight of the bow is 61 g. It is in good condition, ready to play. This bow will be sold with the letter of appraisal for the value of $6,500.00.
