8 Quad Eight 248 Mic Pre & EQs in Custom Rack API Styl Start Price USD 200.00 Current Price USD 2,850.00 Time Left - Bid Count 6 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, August 31, 2008 End Time Sunday, September 07, 2008 Location New York, New York See more about '8 Quad Eight 248 Mic Pre & EQs in Custom Rack API Styl' Description Up for Auction are 8 Vintage Quad Eight 248  Mic Pre's and Equalizers.  The came out of a working studio and were fully operational to the day they were removed.   They were installed in a custom made Lunch Box and used along side a large console.  The Mic Pres are clean, loaded with headroom and have a pad/trim/OL indicator and phantom power.  The EQ's have very finely stepped settings with Q/pre/post/phase/pfl/filt and more.   They have all been factory modified to the latest mod available.  The rack is setup to be plugged into a TAC console supply (maybe soundcraft, not sure).  It's a standard +/- 24 VDC supply and has notes on the back for the wiring.  I will also be including a copy of the latest full size factory mod schematics.   This is truly a one of a kind  setup, the rack was made specifically for me and I was the only one who used it.     These units were considered to be some of the best the 70's had to offer.  I don't know how else to describe them to someone unfamiliar with Quad Eight products.  Please google the eqs to get a better idea of how rare and how revered they are.  I have worked with and own API  550's and Melcor SME 20 and GME 20 eqs and compressors and these Quad Eight Eq's have more range and adjustability than either one of them.   These Modules are originals, they have been maintained by professional technicians during their years of use,  I expect the knobs and contacts will have to worked in a little since they have been decommissioned for a few years and stored. If the auction tops $3000.00 I will include an extra 248 Mic Pre/EQ, a 248 Talkback Module, and a 248 cue/rev/buss selector module.  The reserve is set at a modest amount which is significantly lower than the $3000.00 bonus number.
