It has 34 nylon strings and almost a 5 octave range. The range begins at C two octaves below middle C and ends at A three octaves above middle C. It stands at 62 inches tall, 16 inches wide and weighs 37 pounds in Cherry wood.  The neck, pillar, frame and base are solid hardwood and has an aircraft birch soundboard for wonderful resonation. This is an impressive harp, very responsive, and has extremely rich tone quality. This lovely harp has been designed by Jerry Brown of Music Makers. He has been designing, building, and selling harps for 26 years. The Regency is his top-of-the-line harp and continues to impress everyone with its rich voice at Harp Festivals around the country. Jerry's harps are very popular and known for their impressive quality, durability, string spacing consistancy, and beautiful sound quality. CONSTRUCTION DIFFICULTY RATING:  3  (40 Hour Project)  (ON A SCALE OF 1 TO 5 WITH 1 BEING EASY AND 5 BEING A CHALLENGING CHARACTER BUILDING EXPERIENCE) The instructions are very straightforward and include how to string and tune your harp.   The harp kit includes all pre-cut wood parts, strings, hardware, tuning wrench, and detailed step-by-step instructions. The neck is already pre-drilled for the tapered tuning pins and guide pins, and all parts are carefully pre-fitted to make sure it fits well.  Even the access holes in the back are pre-cut for you.  There is a large tenon inside the neck/pillar joint that eliminates the need for outer plates - but overlays may be added for decoration. Most of your time will be spent assembling the body of the harp. You will want an electric sander for tapering some edges and rounding over others. An electric hand drill will be useful for installing screws and drilling string holes in the soundboard.  The flat soundboard and back are easy to install and then are framed with solid hardwood trim strips that have veining grooves that you may highlight with black or gold paint to “outline” the soundboard. Plan on a 40-hour project, and take your time to finish and decorate this instrument for an elegant harp you will be proud of. Needed:  A large work table, some clamps, electric hand drill,  power sander, and normal household hand tools. The decals are very thin self-adhesive black vinyl that can be added after the harp is finished.
