Description
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL THE SHIPPING/PAYMENT/RETURN TERMS BEFORE YOU COMMITE TO PURCHASING. It's the best to view this listing on a 17" or larger monitor. Thanks for your patience in waiting for your computer to download and display all the pictures. Item Description Up for sale is a GIBSON HISTORIC COLLECTION LES PAUL STANDARD 1959 RE-ISSUE (serial #: 9610xx) built for Yamano by the Custom Shop in Nashville, TN in 2006. It has the VOS finish (vintage-like dull surface with aged parts) and superb playability by plek treatment (super accurate nut and fret adjustment by the plek machine) both of which the Custom Shop started on their Historic Collection models in that year. Yes, it does have the deep neck joint and AWESOME FIGURED TOP!!! The pickups are Duncan '59 Zebra in neck and Alnico II Pro in bridge (seems whoever installed the pickups melted a corner of one bumblebee cap with the soldering iron - no issue with functionality.) The tailpiece is not lightweight (probably zinc?) and the amber knobs may be replacements, but otherwise the guitar appears original. The body top is of authentic-looking two-piece figured maple. On there it has a through-to-the-wood dent by the front pickup, as well as a few minor ones and very fine and faint lacquer checking lengthwise, it's generally clean. The side has only a few indentations and the back has belt buckle rash beneath the toggle switch cavity. The chunky '59-profile neck is without any major blemish, but the headstock face is worn a bit and sanded at the edge. The fretwires are more than 90% left for further use at worst. No breaks or repairs. Weighs 9.5lbs. Will be shipped in a Custom Shop hardshell case which should not be original to the guitar as I believe an R9 would come with the "Lifton" case. It's in excellent condition, by the way. All the paperwork including the certificate will also be enclosed in the case (and everything else that's pictured.) I tried my best to describe this guitar from the viewpoint of originality, and functional and cosmetic conditions as accurate as possible. Please bear in mind, however, I am no expert and not liable for any ignorant information the description may contain. To compensate for that, the listing is accompanied by a number of detailed photos to help you judge the guitar and make a purchasing decision. What you see in the pictures is/are what you will get.
