This is a superior student instrument.The viola is in unplayed condition although it has some nicks and scratches on the varnish. The instrument has a beautiful translucent red-brown varnish and is fitted with an ebony fingerboard. This violin has accurately inlaid purfling both on the front and back.The label inside reads: Handmade copy of Otto Jos. Klier, Geigenbaumeister. Bubenreuth / W.-Germany. No. 12. 1993.This viola has a sweet and mellow tone, still somewhat closed as the instrument has not been played. However, it should develop into a beautiful open and powerful voice once the instrument will have been played in. The viola is strung with top quality Pirastro Piranito strings, fully set up and ready to play. The viola does not come in a case but will be packed in a box filled with styrofoam chips to ensure that it reaches you safely. Unfortunately, there is no bow.These violas retail for £375!
