Description
ITEM DESCRIPTION Thank you for your interest in my item! ITEM DESCRIPTION                                                             Manufacturer:  B.C. Rich                                                             Model:  Jumbo                                                              Color:  Natural                                                             Condition: MINT                                                             Items Included:  Original Guitar Case This is the 1976 B.C. Rich Jumbo acoustic guitar, 100% handcrafted by Bernardo Rico.  Bernie has been making acoustic guitars since he was a teenager, but the Jumbo is his last acoustic guitar.  This guitar is made out of high quality solid spruce top, the back and sides are made out of high quality solid Brazilian Rosewood (Jacaranda).  It has an ebony fingerboard, herringbone binding (front and back), three piece construction design on back, mother of pearl clouds inlay, Schaller gold machine heads, and tortoise shell pick guard.  It has been preserved extremely well. Bernie chose to make this guitar with the Jacaranda wood, which delivers a clean, crisp, and powerful sound when played.  Not only did Bernie choose to make the Jumbo with the best and most expensive materials at the time, but he also made the Jumbo with his guitar craftsmanship pride on the line, which would later challenge and beat all competitors who stood in his way. Due to the limited supply of Jacaranda, only six Jumbo guitars were made.  Of the six, Bernie chose three with the best grains and wrote his signature on the back of the guitar head.  This guitar up for auction is one of the three guitars with Bernardo Rico's signature. Since this guitar has not been widely publicized, it is very difficult to find information about this guitar.  You will probably have to ask people who have known Bernie Rico very well, such as B.C. Rich guitar designer, Neal Moser, B.C. Rich executive, Mel Stich, and B.C. Rich company advisor, Juan Parra, to know the existence of this guitar. FYI-A little history of B.C. Rich:  Bernardo C. Rico founded B.C. Rich from his inspirations by his father.  Bernie's father was a great guitar craftsman himself, who specialized in flamenco, classic, and acoustic guitars.  As a child, Bernie studied and learned his father's crafting skills, and later in the early 1970's, created the first B.C. Rich electric guitar, "Seagull."  Many may remember legendary musicians such as Eric Clapton playing the Seagull in the 1970's.
