Description
Hello. Up for auction is a 1957 Gibson Les Paul. This auction also includes the original hardshell case. We are selling this guitar for a client of ours. This is a spectacular instrument with tons of mojo, but there are a few issues. This is the information as I have it. ALL parts on this guitar are original with the exception of nine screws in the back plate, toggle plate, and truss rod cover. I have extensive photos of this instrument and am happy to email any of them to you upon request. This guitar started it's life as a goldtop. It was refinished in the 70's twice to the burst that it is now. When it was refinished, they revealed a gorgeous one piece top. This guitar had a headstock repair sometime in the 70's. It's a professional job and the repair has held beautifully. The neck was shaved at somepoint along the way as well. It's profile is similar to a Gibson 50's neck carve. Neither of the mods to the neck have altered the function of this instrument in any way. The tuning machines were changed at some point along the way and the serial number changed. The guitar was sent to Tom Murphy at Gibson a few years ago. He filled the holes, replaced the machines with vintage period correct tuners, and changed the serial number again. This guitar is a spectacular player and sounds great. I've done a considerable amount of research on this piece and have more history/info for anyone who's intersted. Call or email and I'm more than happy to share what I know. We are a brick and mortar music store that has been in business since 1974 and are an authorized Gibson dealer. Check our 100% positive feedback and bid with confidence. Buyer to pay actual shipping via UPS Insured with proof of ID upon delivery. Wire transfer or cash only. No international bidders without prior contact. The winning bidder is highly encouraged to setup an appointment to view the instrument/pick it up personally if feasable. Please contact Mike at mike@napervillemusic.com or 630-355-1404 with any questions. Thanks for looking.
