Description
This is a 1934 silver-plated Conn 80A cornet, nearer to mint condition than not, complete with original case, lyre, cleaning rod, and two Conn mouthpieces. It has a .482" bore. The only defects of note on this horn are: the #2 knuckle has been dented in and is missing some of its silver-plating (a tiny dent job and a fresh silver-plate, and it would be like new), and, there is a pencil-point ping on top of the leadpipe (see photo). The horn is fairly tarnished, but the plating is 100%; likewise the gold-plating in the bell. All 6 caps are free, as well as the micro-tuner and several slides. The rest of the slides, and the quick change mechanism all need freeing up. The pistons look like they've scarcely been used. The two Conn mouthpieces are marked as follows: one is stamped at the top of the shank "AI-344 CONN"; the other is stamped "CONN PECHIN" on the side of the cup.
