1.8 SHU GETSU SHAKUHACHI, Key of D, 50 YEARS OLD Start Price USD 350.00 Current Price USD 350.00 Time Left 6 days 28 minutes Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price - Reserve Price - Start Time Sunday, November 16, 2008 End Time Thursday, January 15, 2009 Location Ronkonkoma, New York See more about '1.8 SHU GETSU SHAKUHACHI, Key of D, 50 YEARS OLD' Description SHU GETSU  1.8 SHAKUHACHI KEY OF D        This Shkauhachi is approximately fifty years old, give or take ten years.  I was told the honku is Shu Getsu.  NOT the Shu Getsu who is alive now and still makes shakuhachi's that sell for a lot of money.  The flute was reworked by Perry Yung(if your not familiar with him you can check out his web site, he does excellent work: www.yungflutes.com/log ,).  This being said the flute plays well in tune with itself.  The flute has a small crack at the root end about a half inch long and a quarter inch deep(about half the wall thickness).  When I got it about four years ago I bound it and used some super glue(zap) to fill the gap.  The crack has never moved.  The joint is slightly loose.  I use plumbers telfon tape to snug it up.  I will include a roll (I've only taped it once so a roll should last forever).      The shak is very light, approx. 12 oz.  It's 21 inches long.  The bell is 2 inches wide.  The opening at the bell is 11/16 ths.  The wall diameter of the bell is 5/8 ths.  The width up at the utaguchi is 1 1/2 inches.  The opening is 7/8 ths.  The wall thickness is 5/16 ths.       This is a Jinashi shakuhachi.  It's for the player who wants the more natural raw sound of the bamboo.  Great for Honkyoku (Zen meditation music).   Buyer has a 7 day Audition Period.  If not completely satisfied can return for a full refund.  Buyer pays shipping in both directions.        Will Ship USPS Priority Mail.  2 to 3 business days.  The cost with insurance will be $15.00 in the continental US.  International shipping will be calculated after auction.  I usually ship next day but due to my job it may be a day or two later.  I don't get on the computer everyday so if your in a hurry I can be reached at: 631-672-5698.  Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK, Bob.
