Description
VERY RARE, DESIRABLE, COLLECTABLE, CIRCA 1920's Geo. Houghton high quality Banjo-Ukulele (original- from the famous brittish maker). This magnificent instrument features an 8 inch rim with 14 individual fancy and custom flange plates and raised tonering with close fitting resonator. Wide flat mahogany neck with simple ornamentation. This is an excellent player, from the "world famoust"collection of Akira Tsumura and featured on page 272 of his book, 1001 Banjos. Our sources advised and believe that this special custom instrument was purchased by Akira Tsumura for his world renown collection for $1,000.00. It is in 'remarkable condition' with a bold and beautiful sound second to none for an instrument of almost 100 years of age. It is marked as Dallas in Tsumura book, but it is faintly stamped on the peghead with the emblem used by Houghton. For authenticity purposes I will provider the winning bidder with a photo copy of the page featuring this specific instrument from the Tsumura book of 1001 Banjo's. WHAT A PLAYER, LOUD AND BOLD and fine refrain! This beautiful banjo-ukulele was set up professionally by the head luthier at Bernunzio's, and comes with new nylon strings of course. This instrument was selling for $795.00! The bridge, fretboard, neck and nut are perfect as one would suspect with such a fine collectable and playable banjo-ukulele.The original tuners are tight and really hold the strings in tune. Please note, this is one of the most solid and well balanced banjo-ukulele's that I have encountered. Don't miss out on this spectacular instrument that is 'so easy to play'. PLEASE see all the pictures I have provided as to the fine condition of this instrument!!!! Finally, Bid With Confidence based on my 10 years of 100% Positive Feedback.
