INVESTORS............COLLECTORS............ROCK AND ROLLERS.............For the record this guitar was listed weeks ago and made Ebay's (auction hit list). Climbing to number (2) before I pulled it off. 144 bidders had it on their watch list. One of Fender's greatest classic and certainly most expensive guitar, was the Jaguar. I played my first Jaguar in a little music store in Auburn, Calif. Back in 1964. By the way, it was nearly $400.00 at that time. I was part of a small rock band called "The Odd Lot" and like all struggling musicians at that time we would take every opportunity we had to check out the latest gear. We really couldn't afford to buy any of it. Back then I was playing a Gibson 330 SB, through a Fender Super Reverb and our rhythm player ( Mike Chad ) settle for the less expensive Stratocaster. It was only around $200.00. Isn't it funny how things change. Will enough of that stuff. Lets get to the point. Up for auction is one of the finest pieces in my collection. And when I use the word "finest," I mean it. You'll have to look long and hard to find a flaw. This beautiful ALL original "66 Jaguar Sunburst" came from the early (CBS era). Just a short time after Leo Fender had sold out to them. Every thing about this guitar is nearly perfect. The hardware (wow, like new), the finish ( original Nitrocellulose Lacquer) with only the slittiest Lacquer Checking. Almost none. By the, way, around 67 they stopped useing the Nitro, lacquer finish. The Pickguard, original Brown Tortiseshell. Just gorgeous ( NO pick marks at all). That I can see. Under the bridge is the original spring loaded mute system (with original foam cushion, steal soft). The pickups (Original Fender single coils), Trem Bar, and Bridge cover, switches and knobs, all original and perfect condition. Oh ay! The pickguard, pots, and bridge have never been removed. The neck (clean and straight). The neck is dated "Sept 15 66 B" ( this was the first and only time the neck has ever been removed) . The "B" on the date is the nut width, 1 5/8. The full neck binding is absolutely perfect (NO checking at all). And the first of the Pearl Block Inlays. Fret board (beautiful Brazilian rosewood) and the frets, FLAWLESS. The large F neck plate with the serial number (168865) is spotless. The headstock, super clean with just the slittiest Lacquer checking on the back side. The Original Fender F-Key tuners (nice and tight, in perfect shape). The front of the headstock is just super, super cool. Perfect in every way and with the original Fender Gold Fender Jaguar over lay decal. Style in pristine condition. The BODY, simply beautiful. Looking at it , I'm right back in that little music store over 40 years ago. It really is that nice. I looked hard to fine any issues what so ever and found a spot in the back where someone might have rubbed it against a belt once. But didn't go through the Lacquer finish at all. About the size of a quarter. If you really looked hard you might find it too. It wouldn't show up on film. The Case is the original Black Tolex Case with the standard orange pile. The exterior of the case, latches and locks are all in wonderful condition. A couple more thing, the original case Key, the early 60's owner manual , and thats as cool as can be. Check out the raised Fender logo,( Beautiful). It as well is in near perfect condition. The first time I opened the case and heard the sound the springs made, I knew then " this baby has never been use much, if at all". I played the guitar for the first time sense I got it just the other night. And you can tell it's been setting for years, (I don't think it was ever played). It was cool hearing it coming to life as I played. The more and more I used each knob, switches, and controls, the more she to come to life. She just needs to be used. Some people might chose to play it , just to get that truly original early 60's sound. Or they might decide to put it away for the next 20 years and watch the value of a guitar of this quality go straight through the roof. What ever you chose to do , I know you wont be disappointed. NOT AT ALL. Folks check out my feed back, I tell it like it is. And this baby is Pristine. DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY. There aren't that many this nice left out there. ................................... International bidders must CONTACT ME FIRST before bidding.
